In the works......

by Kelli Pope

Lately I've mostly been working at life, just passing by my studio door, longingly taking quick peeks, just DYING to dive in and work, work, work to my heart's content. I have started making more clay beads, which I can't wait to get fired, and I've purchased a few new glazes I can't wait to try out.

a few new beads to be fired, along with my favorite glaze colors

I've also made a few purchases of handmade components, that I just could NOT live without (you know what that's like don't you? :o) Below are the gorgeous enameled pieces from Mary Ann Carroll that I just HAD to have..... the colors just spoke to me! These guys are on my workbench just calling out to me every time I walk by!

Mary Ann's enameled copper pieces, and wood fired beads.

and here are her pieces with some of mine.. I think the combo is going to be fantastic!

What do you have in the works? Have you posted your latest in Strut Your Stuff?

Show us what you've got! We can't wait to see it and share it!

I can relate with those times, when the studio stands vacant, and you have ideas galore! I hope you get some good time in there. Cant wait to see what you do with your new glazes and MaryAnns enamels. She really is good, love her earthy feel she has with them.

Really love your red glaze, and the look of it alongside MaryAnn's! Really lovely. I can't wait to get in the studio this morning after a day away. Was down in the SF Bay Area yesterday, checking out a class in metal. My husband and I are hoping to build a small forge and kiln this year!

Wonderful Kelli! I know what it is like to just work on life and not be able to create. I guess that is what happens sometimes. We just have so much energy and if it gets burned on other unexpected events, we just need to accept it and not get too stressed. I'm looking forward to life settling back down soon. :o) On another note, I'm not surprised that our styles our working together. They always have :o)
Get better soon......

Thanks Juliette! I think the red may be my favorite... and that's amazing considering I've always been drawn to turquoise. Guess it's the deep richness of color. Good luck with all the projects!!!Sounds like you're going to have a fun year!
Thanks Mary Ann! Looking forward to some "studio therapy" today if I can squeeze it in! :)

the enamels are really gorgeous - you must be excited to work on your own beads to coordinate with them...

Just beautiful and yes, your style does mesh quite well with Mary Ann's. Hang in there - sometimes life gets in the way for a reason. I'm sure you have lots of ideas just cooking away in your brain and when the universe is aligned your hands will take over and turn it all into something gorgeous and worth waiting for.
