yesterday was a blustery day... and many a leaf took flight...
in my head the words of samuel taylor coleridge circled about in a sing song-y type of way...
'the one red leaf, the last of its clan,
that dances as often as dance it can,
hanging so light, and hanging so high,
on the topmost twig that looks up to the sky.'
so i went to my bench and cut, shaped, hammered, filed, drilled and riveted...
to get this...
and once they are all done -
these are waiting for me...
my patience is being sorely tested -
but i am ever so grateful for the ability to interpret and act upon what i am moved by...

These are going to be beautiful!!!!!!!!! I love leaves!!!
They are like the skeletons of leaves we start to find now at the end of fall........your gonna have fun with those colors too.
I think its wonderful how the things we encounter each day can lead us on creative journeys.
I love the leaves. and they are going to look really beautiful with the patina as well.
I'm always amazed at the perfect way that nature operates. Fall brings blustery days that whisk the leaves away from the trees preparing them for the next season....a great lesson to remind us that if we stay close to the rhythm of nature, everything will operate just as it should.
Love what you're doing with the leaf theme...looking forward to seeing the effects of the patina.
