We’ve all felt the influence of ‘perfection’ is happiness. The perfect house, perfect job, perfect love, even in our Art, we wish for perfection. The If Only, the When I… I myself have heard since childhood, ‘if only you … you would be perfect’. Through my own suffering of striving for perfection, I have come to know the true beauty of the meaning 'perfectly imperfect'. Through the practice of wabi sabi, I realized, to strive for perfection is a means of limiting your true creative Self.

This is a good post. I am most drawn to jewelry art that is created by an artist that finds there spiritualism in the elements they use and the process of creating.

I agree..... I, too, have had to work at finding perfection with imperfection. Since creating beads and jewelry with those beads, I still need to tell myself that. I tend to worry about little things that really no one, but me, would even see. My kids are grown and I have that time that I never used to have. I sometimes create beads and components with a specific idea in mind and when I try to put it in play, it just doesn't work. I set it aside until that day that it works with what I'm creating in "that"new moment.

Beautifully said. I googled wabi sabi after reading it on MaryJane's blog and LOVED it. But your definition is much more poetic then Wikipedia. I have never been much of a perfectionest, but I know I have wished I was! Living in the moment something I am working on this year, along with being thankful for each momement for the gift it is, whether that moment is what I desired or not. Its finding joy in what is, rather then what you want it to be;) Ps- love your work, found you on etsy long ago, love love love your designs.
