on the east coast this week we are being reminded of the power, the reach, the wonder of the natural world... (mother nature is equitable, we all get turns)
and so i grew quiet and became attentive...
i know that the brilliance of autumn is just around the corner...
and that, as always, balance is key...

Yes, indeed, mother nature is letting us know her power this weekend. My thoughts are with all of you out on the coast.
We've been watching the news all morning as the winds whip through our back yard. We are a couple of hours from the coast and are still feeling the power of this storm. Thankfully it hit as a catagory 1 and not 3 as was predicted. Even as a 1, Irene is beating us up.
I agree, Maire.... balance is the key to everything in life. When things go really bad for my children, I remind them to be patient and the life will balance out naturally..... it always does if we let it. I'm sitting here in Upstate, NY on top of a hill feeling that we will probably be hit to some degree, but not like others. The good thing today is that people can at least prepare. I love your pieces :o)
