Do you remember times when it felt like you had the world in your hands?
And you learned that there were many mountains to climb and that you could make it to the top?
And there were so many choices, that it was hard to choose a direction?
And when you found a path, you had the choice of turning in a different direction or moving forward?
And sometimes things just were a little big to tackle?
And sometimes you bit off more than you could chew.....
And you kept on going until you were just exhausted....
And it was time to put on the brakes....
Because you just needed to relax and regroup.
And rein yourself in and find some order again.....
To take out the time to have some fun.
Since time goes by very fast.
Because tomorrow there will always be another mountain to climb.
This week I will be starting back to school to begin my 29th year of teaching. As you might have guessed, these are the things in my own life that I need to keep in check.
I hope everyone in NY, who is starting this week, has a better school year than the last. It can only get better.

Just this morning I was thinking of all the good things in my life. I have been blessed, but it hasn't all been fun and games. There have been several large mountains to climb, and with some of those I failed to overcome. But we keep going because the alternative is much worse. Thank you for a great post and fabulous photos!!! Can I ask where that beautiful water fall is? I sometimes plan our vacations around waterfalls, much to the dismay of my family.
what a deeply moving, mindful post - it made me tear up. life can feel so overwhelming - thank you for sharing the joy and excitement.
wishing you a wonderful school year this year -
Hi Alice,
I hear ya! The falls were in Ithaca, NY where there are many more falls. The pictures do not do it justice. Here is the link:

A wonderful post - thank you for the reminder, sometimes it's easy to forget what's truly important.
