on transition

mary jane dodd

it was peaceful in my house -

not the kind that comes along when the kids are sleeping in and the busy-ness awaits, but the kind that comes when you are the only one in it...

you know, when you could hear the proverbial pin drop -

they were all back to school...

life's pauses give us an opportunity to reassess, don't they?

because school will get busy - by early summer, we'll be chomping at the bit for unstructured time...

but for now, i love that the evenings are growing a little shorter... the quiet settling in earlier...

the pauses are gifts -

they allow you to do an assessment of how you are doing and what you want to change... give you a few moments of respite as you make your way forward...

hoping this seasonal transition brings you peace and fulfillment -
