colors

mary jane dodd

because i usually work from raw materials and am inspired mostly by nature, i don't usually consult pantone...

noticing more purple around, my curiosity was piqued in terms of what guides fashion... i think purple is one of those obvious hues that come and go in waves...

from a purely visual standpoint, i love the pops of color here with the rich neutrals -

(i will also confess that i haven't been on pinterest - i am afraid i will fall headlong down that rabbit hole and never emerge! there are just too many amazing things there...)

so tell me,

do you consult pantone for your designs?

do you follow fashion in your purchases? or do you have your own color palette?

I have never followed fashion nor do I follow Pantone or any other color suggestions in my jewelry design. Instead, I buy beads and components that speak to me. Sometimes I make jewelry in seasonal colors like spring, summer and autumn, but never make Christmas, Halloween or any other holiday pieces. I'd rather be 'freewheeling it' in regards to my jewelry.

Good Morning,
I felt compelled to comment because I follow color palettes that I love. I just did the Bead Soup Blog Party and discovered that I have Tons of blues, greens, and purples/pinks, because those are colors I tend to wear.

I don't follow the latest color trend. I tend to go for more natural colors....

I only follow fashion trend if it happens to be on trend with what I like at that time. I LOVE all colors, and wear and work with whatever mood strikes at the moment, whether it's subtle neutrals, or the colors of summer flowers, or peacock feathers, or metals, or sunsets...

I rarely follow the colour trends unless I love the colour, I do tend to make in seasonal colours, not always in the right season though. I make a lot of jewellery inspired by flora and fauna mostly but not always from my garden and local enviroment although I suppose I am inspired by many other things as well.

In my personal fashion, I wear what I like and the colors that I like without regard for what's "in" at that moment.

In jewelry design, I consult the Pantone charts to check whether anything that I already have made includes the trendy colors. That way, I can tag them with the new color names.

I'm too stubborn to follow the color trends. I prefer the natural inspiration all around me.

Being the rugged individualist I go my own sweet way and use what I like not what has been decided as being 'in"

I love seeing what the color trends and forecasts are and then seeing if what the stores carry matches. But in my fashions and jewelry designs I tend to go my own way. I wear what looks good on me. I design with colors that speak to me at the moment.

i NEVER consult Pantone - I like what I like, wear what I like, and would never be influenced by someone else telling me what colors are "in".

Honestly- I only consult pantone to see what "fashion" is looking for, but if I don't like the colors, I don't use them;)
