we all have a language we speak in that is our very own... a language that reflects the inner workings of your mind, your heart...
buying expensive tools can be scary - do i really need it? can i get by without it? but sometimes you need it to get to the next level...
i decided that a stamp set with a custom font would be beneficial to my work... the sets i have are wonderful and will certainly continue to be used...
infinity stamps thus far has been a wonderful company to work with... i got the rights to a font and took the plunge...
they have been terrific - as i have asked to see different sizes - 5 to be exact - that differ by as little as 0.125mm... and all between 2-3mm...
i nailed it down last night and now cannot wait to see them...
one of the biggest hurdles i jumped is saying, 'that's not quite right, could i see it in another size?' i hate being a bother... but as my grandmother said 'it's your dollar, you should get what you really want.'
so ask if you need something, most people are happy to accommodate...
How exciting to have your very own customized font stamp set!
ReplyDeleteBecause I have a small budget, I agonize over every purchase I make. In fact I've put myself on a bead diet for this year, which is really difficult. Instead I'm trying to focus on purchasing tools and equipment I need to take my business to the next level. But for me, it's scary stuff--wondering if I bought the right tool, or if I can actually learn these techniques and make them work for me.
One thing I have learned with age (or got the nerve with age) is to be clear about what you want. Especially if you are paying for an item or a service. In my younger years, I used to think that I might be offending someone..... even if that was the furthest thing from my mind. I can't wait to see your work with your stamps :o)

Alice-
ReplyDeleteI've been doing the exact same thing. Tools, tools, and more tools...but not the "do I really need this" type of purchases. I've upgraded basics and gotten my Smith torch and my kiln, etc. Looking at beautiful beads has become painful ;)

I'm excited for you Mary Jane! It is hard sometimes sticking to a vision...but how will you ever know the outcome if your vision ends up being someone else's because they talked you into a different tool, material...etc. I catch myself letting my sons influence me with their critiques, when...hello...neither one has ever worn a stitch of jewelry. Can't wait to see your new font!
ReplyDeleteAnother personal self image hurdle conquered!! I am proud FOR you.
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting!! I can not wait to see.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Hope they arrive soon so you can show them off!
ReplyDeleteI know beauty and love will come from those stamps, so they are worth it!
