Making beads to sell is still fairly new to me.
It’s been a wonderful experience, though I often feel like I
am stumbling around, going, “oh, this is cool” or “I’d like to try that”, but
mostly saying, “I wonder if this will work?”.
But the stumbling is good. Stumbling
leads to experimenting, which leads to creativity, and gives a freedom I don’t
get from solely making jewelry. I am
wonderfully free to create, and I don’t have to think of how I will use this,
or if it fits my jewelry style. I can
just make it and sell it to someone who knows just what to do with it.
Here is the latest “stumbling” I have done.
Polymer with crackle glaze.
Click on the photos to view them closer, so you can really see the crackle- its the best part.
I am sure I have said this before, but jump (or stumble). You never know where you will land. And you can always jump back if you don't like it. BUT, you just may love it.
I am having a blast.
i love the crackle effect and on your work - especially on the color - it seems so unexpected and great! you are right, making components really frees the brain from the finished jewelry product... and instead you get to focus upon those pieces all by themselves... and then let someone else play...
ReplyDeleteI agree. Making the components really frees one's brain up to try new things!
ReplyDeleteI love the crackle! Any chance of a tutorial? I'd love to know how to do that.
I love the crackle effect, your stumbling is bringing out winning results.
ReplyDeleteSuch vibrant color, and whimsical designs...you're clearly in your element, Staci, and it shows! Nice work. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Love them!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I call stumbling with style! Aaaaah . . . if only I could stumble so beautifully. I love the idea of creating for the sake of creating. You've got me thinking . . .
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you.... You won't know unless you try! I've tried so many different things.... some I love, some I learned it just wasn't my thing. Lovin' the crackle, Staci!
