Gratitude

by Patty Lakinsmith

Be Thankful For...
by Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

I found this poem on gratitude and it rang true with me this year, a difficult year.  If it weren't for the negative, the positive wouldn't shine so brightly.  The food always tastes better when you're hungry, doesn't it?
This day my family comes from far and wide
and I am ready.
Ready for the hugs, the food prepared with loving care
and mostly, the time to be together.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
It was a long road but our furry friend is nearly recovered from his knee surgery.  I am grateful to have met a wonderful pet therapist who cares about him.

While her son (my dad) has been gone for many years, I am so thankful to still have my grandma, and my very lively family of relatives in Michigan.  Yes, Facebook has its negative side, but it has brought us closer together.

Gratitude.
