'the creative process is a process of surrender,
not control.'
~ julia cameron
i worked on an entry for a juried show entitled 'process' this week... i knew what i wanted to do, the ideas falling into place like so many dominoes tumbling one after the next...
like standing at the edge of a cliff, my comfort zone was surely left behind when my chest began pounding... i was doing something i hadn't tried before - and the deadline was only days away...
if one is admitted to the show, images are placed with each entry... images that allow the viewer to see the process behind each work... i really love that idea... for how can one know what goes into something otherwise? unless of course you speak to the one who made it...
there is a sense of ultimate freedom when i work like this...
'freedom is not given to us by anyone;
we have to cultivate it ourselves.
it is a daily practice...
no one can stop you from being aware of each step you take
or each breath in and breath out.'

And don't we love to surrender to the process... This piece is outstanding!
LOVE the Julia Cameron quote! I always feel that way about glass. It often has the final say about how a bead will turn out, and you have to find a way to go with the flow, so to speak.
*Very* interesting exhibit/show to include pictures of the process, and yours are excellent. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
