New Bangle Bracelets

I'm a bracelet kind of a gal.  I really love making them.  Maybe it's because my wrists are the only skinny part of me!  LOL  These are especially fun because I can add my other passion, "textiles!"  I love working with the silk and, of course, the color has great appeal.  Many of these ribbons are from Lisa Jurist.  What a great etsy shop she has.  All I need to do is to add a couple of brightly colored enamel beads and you're home!

I have many of these bracelets that I wear ... not all at once ... but I bet I could!  They are a favorite. The bracelet is about 75% metal and 25% other colorful stuff!  I've decided to start selling these ... and at the ridiculous price of $22, I might add!  If you're interested, just go to www.paintingwithfireartwear.com and click on "jewelry" at the sidebar and you'll be taken right to them.

Please visit me at my blog for a look at some other bangles I'm making that are enameled.  But before you go, let me ask you this: Do you have a special thing you like to make?  What is it?  Why do you like to make it?  Thanks for sharing ... it will help to turn this "monologue" into a "dialogue!"

Your bangles are lovely Barbara, I particularly like Lilac. My thing at the moment is polymer clay pendants, I seem to be churning them out at the rate of knots but I need to do something with them.

The word verification word for my comment was "gazer".... very apt really because that's all I seem to be at the moment, a gazer. Just gazing at my pendants and not doing anything constructive with them.

I just love your bangles! The colorful fabric is the perfect touch.

Right now I can't seem to stop making earrings. I love that I can create something beautiful relatively fast. And I'm finding that the women who don't wear bracelets or necklaces will wear earrings.

Those are absolutely gorgeous bangles, Barbara. I love the way you mixed the fibers with the enameled beads. And they look like they'd be comfortable to wear!

A couple of summers ago, I hit on the idea of making some "quick" bead embroidered cabochon necklaces to sell at my farmers' markets. They were such a hit last year that I very often had a hard time during the week making enough new pieces to replace the ones that I had sold the previous week! This year, though, I've learned my lesson - I started making new pieces back in November as soon as my market season was over!

Beautiful bracelets! I love the "jasmine" one. I love to make earrings because it is a quick and satisfying project. They are also the thing I wear the most (although my art jewelry collection is simply out of this world!)

Excellent! I love your bracelets, but like D'Arsie, am drawn to "Jasmine". I like making what I call my "Amulet" pendants/slides, where the structure is the same but the focal and harmonic elements turn each one into something unique. But I also love making Meanies...

Thanks for a wonderful post!

I just took a break from making "special beads" with a necklace design in mind. I saw a necklace on someone on a court show.... I think the parts I'm trying to replicate (not copy!- LOL!!) were metal. We'll see if my vision becomes anything special :O) I wish I could start to get a vision of using fabric with designs... I see so many beautiful pieces, but I struggle trying to think of how I would use all the cool types of fabric that are out there! Any advice?
