i committed to the ring a week challenge this year... for all that deadlines can often fill me with dread, this one sets me free... it is the place my mind goes to play while i figure out what i 'need' to do with other pieces and other aspects of my life...

Awesome rings!! The only thing that I dislike about any challenges is that I can never seem to find the time to actually get involved... and then wish I did....when it is too late...

I challenged myself, through my About.com site, to make a pair of earrings every day for the whole month of January. I was actually dreading this a little bit, since earrings don't come easily for me - I prefer necklaces and cuff bracelets. But I was absolutely delighted to find that I did pretty well - I'm a few days behind on making earrings, but I've got a sketch book that is now overflowing with earring design ideas!

I think what I like the least about challenges is the thought in the back of my head that I won't live up to what I'm challenging myself to do. But I love challenges because they encourage me to think "outside the bead".

Beautiful rings! I can't wait to see more!

You're a braver woman than I to enter a challenge like that. I love what you've done so far!

Fantastic! Deadlines have to be the most anxiety producing thing I ever have to face. Although, having said that, they often give me a creative 'fire' that I don't otherwise experience. I think participating in a challenge or setting ones for yourself is a wonderful way to motivate yourself to grow creatively.

Gorgeous rings! I admire the devotion this kind of challenge brings out in an artist. A long term commitment challenge is a life changing event. It encourages you to stretch while toning your creative discipline. Bravo to you!!
