Any wirewrapping including just the tiny bits needed for earrings makes it to where I can't even pick up a cup of tea for the next couple days. I go in for a consult at the beginning on march thank goodness.Shai Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16625514249141386180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9010443633955755126.post-38683668963520378832012-02-18T22:16:23.908-05:002012-02-18T22:16:23.908-05:00My second favorite medium is clay after metal...I ...My second favorite medium is clay after metal...I used to have a studio in a clay making spot and fell in love with it...low fire clays are also fun...can't wait to see your finished products!Mystic Indigohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13819788891906071402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9010443633955755126.post-58489392604244063542012-02-18T15:19:47.925-05:002012-02-18T15:19:47.925-05:00Saturday afternoon, and the 2nd bisque firing is u...Saturday afternoon, and the 2nd bisque firing is underway !! :)
1st run came out great! Thanks for the help Mary Ann!!!!
Staci - my next attempt is bronze clay! I've had some in the fridge forever! When I bought it I didn't realized it couldn't just be torch fired like Silver clay.
- Thanks Izzy! I think they turned out pretty good. A close friend of mine asked me to make her an owl necklace this past summer. I was going to buy a cool handmade bead from another artist, but she wanted to wait for one of mine! You do have to pay attention to the temp a clay will take and fire it appropriately but after that it is pretty forgiving and its not all that difficult.Marsha Hedrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09206830867313731939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9010443633955755126.post-65876799864204492632012-02-17T08:14:43.752-05:002012-02-17T08:14:43.752-05:00Cute little owls and birds. It has firing directions, but if it over cooks you have to lower temp, under cooks, raise it, and to fire multiple thicknesses in one load, its all about placement in the kiln and carbon. so I have lost quite a few pieces a long the way!!! Good luck, the beads really look amazing. Have fun! It will be all that more wonderful once you figure it all out.stacilouisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14337978880639296378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9010443633955755126.post-34833617724825431652012-02-17T08:04:21.895-05:002012-02-17T08:04:21.895-05:00I am loving those little owls...I am loving those little owls...Izzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14129979013427994643noreply@blogger.com
